We've made some changes to the HIPAA Forms API and Wordpress plugin this week that we hope will make things a little easier on new users just wanting to test out the service as well as for smaller startup companies that only expect a few form submissions per month starting out.
Before this week we did offer a 1 month free trial to let new users try the service out before they had to pay for anything but unfortunately you still had to enter a credit card number in order to start the free trial, something many people are reluctant to do with a new product and company they don't know and we totally get it.
The inability for healthcare providers to accept E-PHI over their own websites has been one of the biggest issues preventing healthcare providers from streamlining their processes and one of the biggest blockers of innovation for developers like us.
Because of this we want to ensure ALL healthcare providers are able to use our HIPAA Forms solution and we believe releasing the free basic version will be a big step towards that goal.
Another change we made this week was implementing a small increase in our monthly/quarterly standard subscription package for new subscribers.
It's been 7 months since we released version 1.0 of the HIPAA Forms application and have added several features and options since that initial release. Now that we're close to releasing V2.0 we felt this was the time to implement the rate increase however existing subscribers are grandfathered into their original early adopter $50/mo or $150/qtr rate, new subscribers will now be at $55/mo or $160/qtr.
Annual subscription rates have stayed the same at $600/yr which saves $60/yr off of the monthly rate.
Once version 2.0 is release we don't expect many new features to be added to the core application at least nothing major for some time. Instead we will mostly be focused on just improving the core product as much as possible. We do however plan on releasing several new premium add-ons to the product over the next few months including the secure HIPAA compliant file upload option, a "save for later" option & a full appointment management add-on for those using the product to schedule appointments.
With the HIPAA barrier removed we're now able to innovate and do many things that weren't possible before so expect big things coming as we head into the new year!
